Responsibilities:
This position requires an individual with demonstrated technical expertise who will assume a hands-on support role for a large distribution center (DC) in a team setting.
The candidate will confidently maintain the various computer systems in a large DC by following instructions, learning from senior Specialists and Engineers to support business processes for a zero-downtime environment.
Must have strong trouble-shooting skills and demonstrate the ability to resolve various equipment problems, engage with support channels such as engineers and vendor help desks.
Must be able to integrate with a team, yet work independently to resolve technical problems.
Job Qualifications

The candidate must demonstrate a strong drive for hands-on technical support.
Must demonstrate experience in a large DC (or equivalent facility), being comfortable with the various technical, prioritization, planning and management demands presented by the environment.
Must be comfortable interfacing with demanding customers in a respectful manner.
Must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot problems (identify probable cause with hard facts and data, investigate resolution and demonstrate success of solution), working in conjunction with senior engineers or product vendors.
Must have some experience installing, maintaining or configuring PCs, network components, servers or peripheral devices such as printers, scanners etc.
Must have some experience using Microsoft Office Professional Series (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Must demonstrate the ability to understand technology and learn operations of IBM and Windows systems, assuming the role of first level support for all computer systems.
Must demonstrate ability to work with a team of System Specialists who provide the highest quality of customer service to warehouse operations.
Must demonstrate the ability to learn, ask questions and conduct independent research to support warehouse systems independently and responsibly.
Must demonstrate ability to achieve results within measurable limits and clearly defined goals.
Must demonstrate the ability to understand customer demands and needs, responding with urgency to equipment failure situations and provide collaborative solutions to warehouse managers.
Must demonstrate the ability to monitor and measure daily processes, identify improvements and cost saving opportunities.
Will be expected to respond to off-hour emergencies and perform weekend work as required.
Beneficial
Experience:
Basic understanding of inventory management processes (Inventory Receiving, Inventory Stocking, Inventory pulling, Shipping) a plus.
Any operational/technical experience with IBM iSeries systems.
Any operational/technical experience with IBM pSeries systems.
Any experience with DC systems such as Sortation systems, Carousel systems and Inventory Picking systems.
TRAVEL
Occasional overnight travel might be required. Valid Driver's License required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in MIS, Technology (networking, systems administration etc.) preferred.
Proven ability to work in high-expectation situations to reach a solution.
Proven experience at handling multiple assignments and using prioritization skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Proven ability to communicate effectively with business users and technical staff.
Proven ability to dialog with team members and reach solutions collaboratively.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence such as emails and procedure manuals.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from vendors, engineers and customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is required to walk, often over long distances within the warehouse; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance from other team members. Occasionally, it might be necessary to climb ladders or use lifts to reach equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Weekend and shift work will be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually high to moderate.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
